Job Description
Constellation Search Group is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Engineer for a full-time direct hire position. The Sr. Mechanical Engineer will assist in the design of world-class engine management systems for major OEMs globally. As the Technical Lead for new product development of mechanical and electro-mechanical products, the Sr. Mechanical Engineer will drive and support the team through a phase gate product development process. The position is onsite five days a week, and relocation assistance is available for those willing to relocate to San Antonio, TX.
Responsibilities:
- Lead design analysis (FEA, CFD), design reviews, DFMEAs, PFMEAs, and DFM reviews.
- Act as product expert, collaborating closely with internal cross-functional teams, including supply chain, manufacturing engineering, sales, and quality, to develop new products and support existing ones.
- Interact externally with both customers and suppliers on technical topics.
- Work closely with the Program Manager to estimate product cost and development timeline.
- Develop and write design validation test specifications, collaborating with the test lab to ensure proper product validation.
- Mentor and train junior engineers and drafters to build a strong, consistent engineering organization.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; MS in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience.
- Proficient in 3D mechanical design, preferably SolidWorks.
- Proficient in one or more analysis tools such as FEA, CFD, and Tolerance stack.
- Understand and apply GD&T standards.
- Familiarity with injection molding/die casting processes and design practices.
- Seal design expertise.
- Knowledge of CSA Class 1, Div 2, and UL standards preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
