Job Description
Constellation Search Group is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Engineer for a full-time direct hire position. The Sr. Mechanical Engineer will assist in the design of cutting-edge engine management systems for major OEMs worldwide. As the Technical Lead for new product development, the Sr. Mechanical Engineer will guide the team through a phase gate product development process. This position is located onsite five days a week, with relocation assistance available for candidates willing to move to San Antonio, TX.
Responsibilities:
- Lead design analysis using FEA and CFD, conduct design reviews, and oversee DFMEAs, PFMEAs, and DFM reviews.
- Act as the product expert, collaborating with internal teams such as supply chain, manufacturing engineering, sales, and quality to develop new products and support existing ones.
- Interact externally with customers and suppliers on technical topics.
- Collaborate with the Program Manager to estimate product costs and development timelines.
- Develop and write design validation test specifications and partner with the test lab to ensure proper product validation.
- Mentor and train junior engineers and drafters to build a strong, consistent engineering organization.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; MS in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience.
- Proficient in 3D mechanical design, preferably SolidWorks.
- Proficient in analysis tools such as FEA, CFD, and Tolerance stack.
- Understand and apply GD&T standards.
- Familiarity with injection molding/die casting processes and design practices.
- Expertise in seal design.
- Knowledge of CSA Class 1, Div 2, and UL standards preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
