Job Description
Constellation Search Group is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Engineer for a full-time direct hire position. This role is with a global manufacturer specializing in engineered Sealing Connection Tools used for production testing, fluid transfer, and processing applications. With operations in Roseville, Minnesota, and Shenzhen, China, the company is experiencing rapid growth. The Sr. Mechanical Engineer will focus on product development for both new and custom products, with potential for leadership in managing others.
Responsibilities:Qualifications:
- Develop new products from business cases and requests, guiding them to full production and providing ongoing support.
- Create, research, design, and develop specialty connector components and assemblies, including FEA, DOE calculations, and leading DFMEA.
- Process designs by detailing prints, procuring prototypes, and maintaining documentation.
- Work within the Inventor CAD and Vault Management environment to maintain solid models.
- Develop and execute reliability engineering test parameters with subsequent analysis.
- Coordinate procurement, manufacturing, and testing for custom application products.
- Generate layouts for product enhancements and conduct cost analyses for value-engineering activities.
- Benchmark competitors and recommend process and material selections.
- Document all aspects of product development, ensuring BOM accuracy and releasing drawings.
- Assess training needs, develop materials, and provide coaching to manufacturing staff.
- Regularly communicate design status and support training for new and existing products.
- Lead or participate in cross-functional teams to enhance product concepts, design, and quality.
- Independently manage projects to completion, seeking improvement opportunities, and managing small cross-functional teams.
- Evaluate product issues to determine corrective and preventative actions.
- Stay current with industry design trends and maintain confidentiality of information.
- Requires a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in mechanical design engineering.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and an understanding of machining principles.
- Proficient in solid model CAD with at least 2000 hours in Inventor or SolidWorks.
- Strong engineering skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and conflicting priorities.
- Experience with fluid power products and team-building skills to lead small cross-functional teams.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, with an awareness of industry design trends.
