Job Description
Constellation Search Group is looking for a Technical Inside Sales Engineer for a full-time, direct hire opportunity based in the Twin Cities. As the Technical Sales Engineer, you will play a critical role in the success of the Valve and Dental Division. As the inside sales engineer, you will be a key resource for the outside sales team and a customer advocate. You will support sales growth by providing technical support, preparing quotes, and collaborating with internal teams to deliver valve and dental solutions.
The ideal candidate possesses a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent communication skills, and a working knowledge of 3D modeling software for the purpose of assisting in communicating design concepts, interpreting customer drawings, and supporting light design modifications as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary internal support for the Sales Managers in the Valve division.
- Main point of contact for stocking distributors and customers seeking standard pricing, availability and technical support.
- Subject matter expert and super user of internal valve configurator software.
- Handles valve configurator requests for configure to order products from external users.
- Manages document compliance requests from new and existing customers.
- Utilize 3D modeling software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent) to review, modify, or create component and assembly models in support of customer applications and sales proposals.
- Interpret customer specifications, drawings, and application requirements to recommend appropriate valve products.
- Prepare and follow up on quotations, ensuring accurate pricing, lead times, and technical specifications.
- Collaborate with sales managers, customer service and operations to address lead times, and product customization.
- Manage day to day activity of designated customer accounts/relationships and support the outside sales team on larger custom projects.
- Provide product training and support to customers and distributors.
- Utilize CRM software to track deals and customer contact information
- Stay current on industry trends, competitors, and product innovations within the valve market.
- Support outward bound sales activities if necessary. Such as tradeshows or customer visits.
Experience: - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or 5 years in a related technical field.
- 2 years of experience in technical sales, inside sales, or customer support; experience directly with industrial valves, fluid control, or related manufacturing sectors desired.
- Working knowledge of 3D CAD software.
- Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical customers.
- Familiarity with ERP and CRM systems.
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with custom valve design or fluid control systems.
- Working knowledge of machining, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Previous experience in a B2B technical sales environment.
