Job Description
Constellation Search Group is seeking a DevOps Engineer for a full-time direct hire position. The skilled and motivated DevOps Engineer will manage .NET applications and SQL Server databases on AWS. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, deploying, and maintaining scalable and reliable infrastructure, supporting development teams in deploying applications and automating processes, and managing cloud resources.
Responsibilities:
- Manage infrastructure and environments on AWS to support .NET applications and SQL Server databases.
- Collaborate with development and QA teams to ensure automated, reliable, and repeatable deployment pipelines (CI/CD).
- Manage AWS resources such as EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, VPC, and IAM for .NET and SQL Server workloads.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to application performance, infrastructure, and database environments.
- Automate configuration management, deployment, and infrastructure provisioning using tools like Terraform or AWS CLI.
- Monitor and maintain the health of cloud infrastructure and applications, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
- Provide support for backup, disaster recovery, and security solutions, ensuring compliance with organizational policies.
- Optimize infrastructure costs and performance through efficient resource management and automation.
- Work with teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of .NET applications and services to production.
- Maintain documentation and standards for operational procedures and infrastructure.
Qualifications: - Proven experience with .NET Framework and C#, including performance tuning and optimization in AWS environments.
- Strong understanding of SQL Server, with hands-on experience in performance tuning and query optimization on AWS (including RDS).
- Extensive experience with CI/CD pipelines, using Atlassian Bamboo and Octopus Deploy.
- Ability to manage, troubleshoot, and optimize deployment workflows with a focus on AWS services.
- Experience with Jira administration, Bitbucket (Git), and branching strategies for collaborative development.
- Hands-on experience managing cloud-based applications and infrastructure within AWS.
- Experience designing secure networks in AWS, including VPCs, Subnets, and Security Groups.
- Extensive experience using Terraform for AWS infrastructure management and best practices.
- Familiarity with automating infrastructure provisioning in AWS for scalable solutions.
- Expertise in diagnosing and resolving performance issues in .NET applications on AWS.
- Ability to identify and mitigate bottlenecks in database and application performance.
- Familiarity with Windows Server environments and IIS, especially in AWS EC2 instances.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation, particularly with PowerShell.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or other relevant certifications.
- Strong knowledge of .NET technologies including .NET Core and experience deploying on AWS.
- Familiarity with performance monitoring tools such as AWS CloudWatch and Datadog.
- Experience with AWS containerization and orchestration tools.
