Constellation Search Group is seeking a Payroll Specialist for a full-time direct hire position. This role is critical in supporting financial operations within a Licensed Home Care Services Agency environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and possesses experience in healthcare industries. They will thrive in a mission-driven, fast-paced setting, overseeing daily operations for billing areas and ensuring the efficiency of financial processes.
Responsibilities:
- Audit monthly Accounts Receivable agings and collaborate with billers to monitor and analyze collectability, providing recommendations to the A/R Manager regarding account balances for write-off.
- Prepare and update all A/R and census-related schedules monthly and for the fiscal year-end audit.
- Mentor a team of billing/revenue cycle staff.
- Assist the A/R Manager in analyzing changes in payment methodology and ensure the electronic billing system is current and compliant with reimbursement programs.
- Evaluate current reimbursement contracts, including Medicaid long-term care, Medicare Advantage, and other insurance, to ensure beneficial terms and alignment with services provided.
- Assess the need for other payer contracts and assist in their establishment and negotiation of terms.
- Ensure billing policies and procedures are documented and followed, implementing additional efficiencies and controls as necessary.
- Accurately and timely input all charges/credits into a computerized billing system for Health Center and Assisted Living residents.
- Manage electronic billing for Medicare Part A & B and Medicaid, staying updated on regulatory changes.
- Process benefit exhaust and No Pay claims as per Medicare and Managed Care guidelines.
- Follow up on aging accounts and collections, correcting and resubmitting Medicare, private insurance, and Medicaid rejections in a timely manner.
- Communicate with other departments to expedite charge data flow into the billing system.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3–5 years of progressive billing/AR experience
- Experience working in the healthcare industry
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with billing software (e.g., HHA Exchange) and Excel
- Strong organizational and analytical skills, with a high attention to detail
