Manager, Investment Accounting

Job Description

    Constellation Search Group is seeking a Manager, Investment Accounting for a full-time direct hire position. The Manager, Investment Accounting is responsible for overseeing the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including statutory and GAAP deliverables for managed assets. This role involves supervising investment portfolio income, gains, and positions, and serving as a key contact for financial reporting, investment managers, and auditors. The Manager will ensure compliance with GAAP and statutory guidance, aiding in disclosures and accounting treatments for various asset classes.   
 
 
 
     Responsibilities:   
      
  •    Supervise and review month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate GAAP deliverables across managed companies.  
    •   
  •    Oversee income, gains, and positions for an investment portfolio containing fixed income, equity, and alternative investments.  
    •   
  •    Serve as the primary contact for financial reporting teams, investment managers, and external/internal auditors.  
    •   
  •    Offer expertise in GAAP and statutory guidance, assisting with disclosures and accounting treatments for multiple asset classes and strategies.  
    •   
  •    Lead and mentor the Investment Accounting Team, defining roles and fostering an understanding of organizational business operations.  
    •   
  •    Manage general ledger recording for investment-related items and oversee supporting documentation and reconciliation processes.  
    •   
  •    Ensure the accuracy of financial reporting packages for corporate parent and clients.  
    •   
  •    Coordinate and prioritize initiatives with outsourced accounting providers and other external vendors.  
    •   
  •    Lead strategic reporting projects, aiming to enhance ledger booking and automate monthly processes.  
    •   
  •    Maintain and update comprehensive process documentation, audit requirements, and statutory compliance schedules.  
    •  
     Qualifications:   
      
  •    Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Engineering.  
    •   
  •    CPA designation or progression towards CPA is preferred.  
    •   
  •    8  years of relevant work experience in investment accounting.  
    •   
  •    Strong command of fixed income instruments and insurance investment accounting principles.  
    •   
  •    Ability to clearly communicate complex information.  
    •   
  •    Proven ability to work under pressure and deliver accurate results.  
    •   
  •    Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.  
    •   
  •    Experience with Clearwater, Sovos Stat Reporting, and Power BI is preferred.
