Job Description
Constellation Search Group is seeking a Scheduler for a full-time direct hire position. The Scheduler is responsible for creating, maintaining, and communicating accurate production schedules that align customer orders with shop floor capacity. This role requires strong computer skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a willingness to work directly with operations teams. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and able to balance customer priorities with operational realities to ensure reliable delivery commitments.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage daily and weekly production schedules based on customer orders and capacity constraints.
- Work directly with supervisors and operators to validate schedule feasibility and adjust in real-time.
- Translate customer orders into accurate ship dates by evaluating material availability, labor, and machine capacity.
- Monitor order progress on the floor and proactively update customer service and sales on delivery status.
- Maintain scheduling data in the ERP system, ensuring accuracy of order dates and production statuses.
- Generate reports on order status, capacity utilization, and schedule adherence.
- Provide input to improve ERP scheduling functions and planning processes.
- Serve as the scheduling point of contact for Sales, Customer Service, Operations, and Warehouse.
- Communicate clearly with customer service to provide accurate order updates.
- Participate in daily and weekly operations meetings to provide schedule updates and constraints.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or equivalent experience preferred.
- 2 years of experience in production or operations within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing workflows, lead times, and capacity constraints.
- Experience with ERP or MRP systems required.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to adjust schedules quickly.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and schedule maintenance.
- Effective communicator across all levels of the organization, from shop floor to leadership.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/MRP scheduling tools.
- Collaborative mindset with a hands-on, "boots on the ground approach.
